Perfect Makeup Foundation color - How to select?

The first step for selecting the foundation that is just right for the skin to which make up has to be applied is to recognize the skin type. There three different skin types viz. oily, dry or normal.

If the skin is oily then the foundation should be oil free. This oil free solution contains emollients that would routinely control the oil produced by the facial cells. For the dry skin moisture enriched foundation is idyllic. It hydrates the dry skin and makes it apt for the makeup to stay longer. For the normal skin any foundation could be selected but oil free is always better.

Once the skin type foundation is identified, next step is to determine the foundation shade on the basis of the skin colour. To know the skin colour that matches the foundation shade, just take little foundation (from the tester that seller provides) in the finger and put near the jaw line and spread it down the neck. It should blend with the skin colour around the jaw line and neck. If it mixes well the skin color then it is perfect foundation shade else one has to keep trying other shades in similar way. Always ensure to clean the previous shade applied on the skin with the skin cleansing milk before testing the next shade.

Common makeup foundation mistake

Common mistake females generally do while selecting the foundation shade is that they apply the foundation on the back of the hand. Facial skin color is much fairer than the skin color of hand. As a result they tend to buy the wrong shade. Hence, always sample the foundation shade near the jaw line.

One has to select different foundation for winters and summers. It is inappropriate to use the same shade all through the year. In winters skin colour is little fairer than what it is in summer. Also in summer, as sun emits harmful ultra violet rays, the foundation with SPF15 must be opted so as to give the protective shield to skin.
